“Old Johnny” the Eagle’s Nest community’s pet dog enjoys a fresh fish dinner compliments of a strong NNW wind that blew a lot of the water from the upper Pamlico River. The fish was trapped in a shallow depression by the retreating water. The fish was taken by illegal methods since recreational anglers are only allowed to take speckled trout by hook and line in waters under the jurisdiction of the NCDMF but, in this case, an exception will probably be made.
